Messier Marathon: The Movie 2008
This movie tries to capture the afternoon and night of the 2008 Messier Marathon, including a few scenes from the monthly GMARS Star-B-Q. A couple notes on it:
-Messier night was ridiculously windy and a number of the images illustrate how much the scope was bouncing around. However, unlike when you are doing high-end imaging, there is really no time to reshoot. On average, you have to do a object every six minutes.
-The movie doesn't include all the shots, mostly because... well... I didn't figure the timing correctly. Next year...
-The music is from the group Train called "Drops of Jupiter" - listen to the lyrics.
-The video was created on a Mac in iMovie08 and many of the images processed in Leopard Preview.
-Special thanks to Bob Stephens who shot the sunset, and the scenes in Megnaritaville.
