M17 - the Swan or Omega Nebula is in Sagittarius. This image was taken at GMARS in September 2008 through a WO 80mm FD with an SBIG ST2000XCM. Captured in Equinox Image and processed entirely on a Mac in Nebulosity 2.0, Photoshop CS3 and Leopard Preview. When observed visually, typically only the brightest part of the nebula is visible.
