The Flame and Horsehead Nebulas are a favorite photographic pair next to the belt of Orion. This image was taken at GMARS in September 2008 through the WO 80mm FD with an SBIG ST4000. Captured in Equinox Image and processed entirely on a Macintosh in Nebulosity 2.0, Photoshop CS3 and Leopard Preview. The Horsehead is a very difficult object to see visually; it requires a large scope and filters.
